Summary of Summit
CEO Glenn Liebman provided the following summary after the Summit:
Thank you for your interest in attending the Mental Health Association in New York State, Inc.’s Mental Health in Education Summit on Thursday, March 16, 2017. We understand that many people were unable to attend due to the inclement weather, therefore, we are sharing hand-outs, and our presentation.
Over 100 people did attend, including educators, school administrators, leaders in state-wide education organizations, government officials and community-based mental health organizations. We are particularly grateful for the courageous students who shared their stories, our panel of experts, and NYS Education Department Commissioner MaryEllen Elia and Associate Commissioner Donna Bradbury, NYS Office of Mental Health, Division of Children and Families for taking the time to share their perspectives.
The Summit generated a great deal of discussion, much of which we will be compiling into a white paper in the next few months. We very much appreciated the open and candid dialogue and look forward to providing more opportunities to continue the conversation.
Sincerely,
Glenn Liebman
CEO
Mental Health Association in New York State, Inc.
